Next I want to try proper old-fashioned ballroom dancing, kind of like they do on Strictly Come Dancing because it always looks really elegant and beautiful – and the dresses are amazing! Hahah.

My favourite is probably either cheerleader or street dancing because of the beat of the music.

They always used to read to me when I was little and they taught me to read before I started school. I’ve pretty much inherited their love of books. And the types of books too because I love horror and fantasy, the same as Jade Rachel.

Right now I’m reading The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella by Stephanie Meyer. The blurb on the back of the book says The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is the riveting story of Bree Tanner, a vampire first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the world she inhabits. The novella chronicles the journey of members of the newborn vampire army from their preparations to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullen family to its unforgettable conclusion.

I’m about half way through and I think it’s great, even if Jade Rachel keeps laughing at me for liking Twilight and she keeps threatening to throw the book away – she loves vampires but not Twilight!

My mum Shaine died in December 2007. She killed herself. She had depression all her life and a long history of problems with drugs.
I miss her.

My dad is called Craig. He’s a financial advisor. His boyfriend is called Jimmy. He works for Disney. They’ve been together for like 18 years now but they say they’ll never get married because they don’t see the point.

My mum was married to Jade Rachel. I guess she’s really my step mum. I live with her since mum died. Jade Rachel and Dad and Jimmy gave me the option of who I wanted to live with. I love my dad to pieces but I don’t think I’d be able to talk to him about boys and clothes and periods and stuff because he’s a man and that would be weird so I chose to live with Jade Rachel.
I spend every weekend with my dad and Jimmy. I go to their house after school on a Friday and stay there til school starts on Monday.

Yes. All of my parents are gay. I had two mums and two dads. I tell most people when I meet them that my mum is dead, I have a dad, a step-mum and a step-dad. It is the truth and it’s a lot easier than explaining the way things really are. My real friends now.

Mum and Jade Rachel were friends with Dad and Jimmy forever. Jimmy went to school with my mum’s big sister, Auntie Emily. Mum and Jade Rachel knew they wanted a family of their own. Dad and Jimmy also wanted a child. I don’t really know the ins and outs of how a gay man and a lesbian would have a child together but that’s what they did and here I am

Jade Rachel has a new girlfriend called Erin. They’ve been together a few months. Erin doesn’t live with us. Jade Rachel is pregnant because she was raped. I don’t think I would be able to keep the baby if that happened to me but Jade Rachel says it’s not the baby’s fault. I’m going to have a little brother in February called Caden Bryce (but I think Bryce Caden sounds better) only he’s not really going to be related to me at all because he has a different mum and a different dad.

I love my very strange family and wouldn’t change them for the world.

Me and Jade Rachel went to Playa de Palma for the half-term holiday. Playa de Palma is in Mallorca which is an island off the east coast of Spain.

It was great. It was lovely and sunny and I got a really good tan. We spent time at the pool, sunbathing and swimming and went in the jacuzzi. We did lots of watersports too. We did a sightseeing bus trip and hired bikes and cycled around. We cycled to C’an Pastilla and El Arenal. We played lots of tennis and volleyball and mini golf. We played mini golf at Golf Fantasia which is all dinosaur themed. That was wicked. We went to Palma Aquarium and I got to feed a turtle! We went to Aqualand which is a water park and had lots of really cool different slides and a waves and stuff too. We also went to Parc Natural de s’Albufera.

I’m sad to be home but looking forward to seeing all my friends again and telling them about my holiday

My Doctor says I can go back to school on Monday. I like this because I like school and I have been very bored this week. I still have a sore throat and I’m not talking quite right but I feel better and I’ve finished the tablets and everything. Georgia has been bringing me my homework and notes from lessons so I can keep up to date but it’s not the same as being there. I haven’t been to school or gymnastics or karate or dance classes for two weeks now and I miss everyone a lot!
It’s nearly the school holidays too so thats another week of not seeing everyone all the time!

I have been having fun playing lots of Kingdoms Of Camelot on Facebook though. It’s a fun game. You build up your city and train your troops and attack people and protect your city. It’s very addictive. I’ve just invaded a plain and built a second city and joined an alliance!

Lots of the games on Facebook are a lot of fun. I like Farmville, Cafe World, Mafia Wars, Country Life, Vampire Wars, Hotel City, Mobsters, Ponzi, Pet Wars, Middle Kingdom, Treasure Isle and World War.

I’ve been adding new page to this site and I’ve changed my livejournal and I’ve been chatting a lot on http://anything–goes.net which is a fun forum and making lots of new friends. It’s fun but it’s not as fun as being out with my friends though.

My Dad takes me to the cinema every Friday after school but because I wasn’t in school today we all went out together. Me and Jade Rachel and Dad and Jimmy. We went to see Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time
I loved it. It was really really fun! It was magical and exciteing and easy to understand. I like the clothes and the make up and the music. It was full of action too! Jake Gyllenhaal is gorgeous and the girl who played Tamina is really pretty.

When I started at Battersea Park school people tried to bully me because I was different. Because my mum’s dead and my dad’s gay and that kind of stuff. It hurt a lot to start with but Jade Rachel told me that a bully is only a bully if they have someone to bully and that if I don’t be bullied that they would stop. She was right because when I hit them back they stopped.

I met one of my new best friends because I saved him from bullies. It happened when we came back to school after Christmas and there was a new boy in my class. We’re in the first year and there was a group of last year students and they were hitting and laughing at him because he doesn’t speak very good English. He’s new in school too and he doesn’t know many people and these girls were being horrible and making him cry. I felt really bad for him so I helped him and I karate kicked the girl who was being meanest, grabbed his hand and walked away with him. I got detention for fighting and both Jade Rachel AND Dad grounded me but a lot of the bullies got expelled because she was bullying him so it was worth it and now I have a really good new friend who doesn’t get bullied. He’s called Kelil and he’s from Ethopia. He speaks a language called Amharic. His English is getting a lot better since Christmas and he’s a lot less shy and learning more so I think I did the right thing because it helped him and I have a new friend.

I’ve got (and had to use a dictionary to spell) laryngitis, tonsillitis, a viral infection and gastroenteritis.

I didn’t know what a lot of those was so I looked them up in a dictionary.
Laryngitis: inflammation of the larynx, often with accompanying sore throat, hoarseness or loss of voice, and dry cough. I had to look up larynx but I didn’t understand what the dictionary said. Jade Rachel says its my voice box.
Tonsilitis: inflammation of the tonsils
Gastroenteritis:inflammation of the stomach and intestines.

I think this pretty much means my entire insides are swollen and I feel really ill because of it. I have a sore throat and headache and it hurts to swallow and I can’t talk and my tummy hurts and I keep having to go to the toilet and I want to be sick and I’m hungry and I’m thirsty.

And if all that wasn’t enough, I also have my first period today which is making my tummy hurt and my sides hurt and my back hurt. I don’t think my body likes me very much today. I know I don’t like it very much.

I want to go to sleep but I keep waking myself up because I’m too hot and I’m too cold and I’m coughing and I have to go to the toilet.

I feel like a crybaby but I don’t normally get ill.

This question makes no sense to me. Why would I be embarrassed about any of the CDs I own or songs I listen to? I don’t get it at all. The fact that I own and listen to them means I like them. I’m not embarrassed to like any of the music I like because I LIKE THEM. If I didn’t like them, then I wouldn’t have them. People are actually embarrassed to like the music they like? Why? If they think it’s because their friends are going to laugh at them or something then they need new friends. No-one should be embarassed to be themselves, that’s just silly!

I can’t answer the ‘how often do you listen to it’ question because a) there isn’t a anything I’m embarrassed by in my music and b) I don’t keep track of how often I listen to anything. I just listen to something when I want to listen to it. Sometimes I can leave a CD on repeat for a week and then not listen to it again for a month. It just changes depending on the mood I’m in.

My friends and I share everything and yes we talk about music. We all have slightly different tastes in music but we all like pop and we all listen to the Top 40 countdown on a Sunday afternoon. And we usually listen together and rate the music and put our own chart together based on what we like and how we think the top 10 should be. That’s fun.

I’m always listening to music. And because I do gymnastics and dance and cheerleading music is a very important part of my life. It shapes a lot of what I do and it’s always there as part of my routines.

Jade Rachel teases me about my music but it’s not mean, it’s just just fun and its something we’ve always done. She used to tease my mum about her music too. And my mum and I used to tease her bout her music too.

My mum used to listen to Britney Spears, Hilary Duff, Christina Aguilera, Ashlee Simpson, Good Charlotte, Backstreet Boys, McFly – fun pop music. I got a lot of my music from her. I grew up listening to her music and it’s nice to lsiten to what she liked because it reminds me of her

Jade Rachel listens to… like.. plinky plonky new age stuff that sounds really weird. She likes Enya and Clannad and Enigma. But she also listens to some really cool rock music too like Green Day and Billy Talent. So sometimes her music is good but her new age stuff I don’t like at all.

I don’t really like my dad’s music either. He likes to go out to nightclubs and he likes what he calls dance music. I don’t think it should be called dance music though because you can’t really dance to it. He says what I call dancing isn’t the sort of dancing he does and so the music he dances to is different to the music I dance to. I suppose that makes sense. Different types of routines have different types of music but his music is just horrible and thump thump thump and gives me a nasty headache.

Mothering Sunday is a Christian festival celebrated throughout Europe. Secularly it became a celebration of motherhood. It is increasingly being called Mother’s Day, although that other holiday has a completely different origin. In the UK it is considered synonymous with Mother’s Day as celebrated in other countries.

I wonder if Jade would still want to celebrate if if she knew it was Christian?

I live with my Dad on weekends but I went home this morning and I made Jade breakfast in bed. A full English Breakfast with bacon and sausages and a fried egg and tomatoes and beans and mushrooms because I know she loves them. I baked her some cupcakes too. Vanilla ones because vanilla is her favourite. I bought her a bunch of flowers as well.

This afternoon I went to my Mum’s grave so I could leave her some flowers as well.

I’m back at Dad’s now though because Jade’s got the flu and she’s really poorly. I love her but I don’t want the flu!

School
I’m a first year student at Battersea Technology College. I spend 6 hours a day, 5 days a week there. I then spend a few more hours every week doing homework. It makes sense for school to be in my head a lot. I like English, History, Science and PE.

Friends
I have the best friends in the world but everybody probably thinks that. I like the fact that we’re all very different but still get on really well and I hope we always do. There’s Michael and Matthew (there identical twins), Sarah, Hannah and me.
My oldest friend is Megan but she doesn’t go to the same school as me. We do gymnastics together.

Family
My family are really important. They’re… not a very normal family and that makes me love them even more. I live with… I suppose she’s technically my step-mum Jade Rachel. My mum died two years ago. Jade Rachel and my mum were girlfriends. They’d been together since they were teenagers. Then there’s my dad and his boyfriend Jimmy.

Sports
I do gymnastics, cheerleading and I swim. I play tennis sometimes. I love football more than anything and have been going to see Chelsea FC since before I was born!

Reading
My mum and Jade Rachel both read a lot so I was always around books, being read stories when I was little. I’ve inherited their love of reading. I love Twilight, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Chronicles Of Narnia. Fantasy books are my favourite
